Beaconsfield JFC is again proud to be a part of the "Call to Arms" campaign during Round 10 

In season 2009 Beaconsfield JFC supported a very important and worthwhile cause, the Cancer Council ‘Call to Arms’, and will continue the tradition in season 2010. July is the official month for this year's Call To Arms campaign, and as such, all players are to wear yellow armbands during Round 10 Sunday 11th July, in a show of support and to raise awareness for cancer in men. 

Call To Arms started in 2006, when Essendon Football Club showed their support for teammate Adam Ramanauskas, who was diagnosed with cancer, by wearing yellow armbands in the first Clash For Cancer against Melbourne Football Club. Since then, sporting clubs across Australia have joined the cause and wear yellow for one game to help in the fight against cancer.

Round 10 "Call to Arms" Awards night this Sunday

Our third Awards Night will also be held on this Sunday evening after Round 10 at the Seniors Ground, all money raised on this night will be donated to the ‘Call to Arms’ cause. So make sure you come along and help us support the ‘Call to Arms’ campaign. 

The Call to Arms Award Night will commence at 5pm and be held at the Perc Allison reserve Beaconsfield Emerald Rd Beaconsfield. For the below teams on duty please ensure you have at minimum of seven parents from each team to assist as the saying goes " Many hands make light work". If unsure of what help is required please see Mandy Coombes upon your arrival, she will be in the canteen.

Hey Under 9 Players - Little Demons Day is coming - Round 11! 

The DDJFL Little Demons Day 2010 is one of the biggest days on the DDJFL Calendar. The day provides children with a fun, safe and positive experience through a well-structured match program where the emphasis is on further development of basic games skills and having fun. The Little Demons Day provides an opportunity for all Under 9 players to participate in a fun day of football development with a carnival atmosphere. 

The 2010 Little Demons Day is set to be the biggest day yet as 36 Under 9 teams participate on the day. The Little Demons Day Handbook is your guide to the day with all the fixtures, maps and information required to manage the day. Personalised Playing Cards 

We have available for order Personalised Player Cards including Club Colours and Logo. Each card will be printed on both sides using two different photos. These cards make great presents for the Grandparents or fit nicely in your wallet/purse. Kids love them and can even swap them with their friends. 

Order forms will be distributed to all players in Round 10. Order forms and payment (cash or cheque) need to be returned to your Team Manager on or before Round 11. Photos of players who have completed Order Forms and Payment will be taken prior to the home games in Round 11 & 12 (depending when you play at home).

Delivery of your Personalised Player Cards will be in Round 14. *Note: The card shown is an example only.

The 14's have all the milestone's in Round 9 

Congratulations to Tom Bramich & Luke Butler from Under 14 Gold on having achieved playing 50 games of football at Round 9, 2010. Also a big congratulations to Jake Flynn & James Archer from the Under 14 Blue team on the achievement of having played 100 games of football and to boot celebrated the milestone with a 105 point win. Well done to all four players on your fantastic achievement's and the Beaconsfield JFC hope you had a great day.

Beaconsfield Junior Football Club welcomes our new President 

The Beaconsfield Junior Football Club committee would like to introduce and welcome our new club President Paddy McKenna. Elected to the Presidents position in a meeting held at the Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve on June 7th 2010, the committee was unanimous in the decision of his appointment. Paddy brings with him a wealth of football knowledge, passion for our club and various experiences in sporting roles. Paddy himself began his football days with the Beaconsfield Junior Football Club playing in the Under 10's right thru to the under 16's and played another two years of senior football for Beaconsfield. The McKenna family name is renowned with our club, Paddy's father Des was a founder of the Junior club and life member whilst his nine brothers (yes 9) all played football for the Beaconsfield Junior Football Club. One of his brothers Michael continued his football after Beaconsfield playing over 100 games with Footscray and the Richmond Football Clubs in the AFL-VFL competition. Paddy continues his families tradition at our club with three of his own children playing whilst coaching one of his son's teams, the Under 11 Blue side. Moreover with three years experience as senior club President with the St Xavier Old Collegians extend further our reasons that Paddy McKenna will be an asset to our club in the role of President.
